Halladay Auto Group in Cheyenne, WY is growing and seeks a Parts Counterperson to manage the parts sales cycle from start to finish and to deliver friendly, professional service to customers and staff. The role involves reading catalogs, quoting prices, and ensuring pricing alignment with estimates.

The position emphasizes strong interpersonal skills, numerical accuracy, and the ability to handle out-of-stock parts or emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; auto parts sales experience preferred.
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
• Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Ability to calculate figures, discounts, commissions, proportions, and volumes.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Converse effectively regarding customer parts status.
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers.
• Review body shop estimates to verify parts ordered are correct and pricing matches the estimate.
• Provide high level service to internal and external customers.
• Pull/fill orders from stock and perform weekly bin checks for stock accuracy.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or materials needing immediate attention.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders if necessary.
• Ensure internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
