Job summary

Alta Equipment Company is seeking a full-time Parts Counter Associate at our South Elgin, IL branch. The role involves processing parts purchases and sales and actively selling parts, with a focus on accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include maintaining department order, assisting in inventories, and delivering parts to customers, while upholding Alta's guiding principles and ensuring high standards of service.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of previous heavy equipment, auto or truck parts counter experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASE certifications are preferred.
• Basic mechanical understanding and ability to identify parts by sight and name.
• Excellent communication and professionalism required.
• Knowledge of mark-up and gross margin.

Responsibilities

• Process parts purchases and sales.
• Actively sell parts to customers.
• Ensure part margins meet Alta policies.
• Maintain customer satisfaction, including internal customers.
• Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving for parts.
• Keep department organized and clean.
• Assist in physical inventory counts.
• Deliver parts to customers as needed.
• Represent Alta's guiding principles in daily activities.
• Attend work consistently and on time.
