Job summary

Rueter’s Equipment is seeking a Parts Counter Sales professional to handle receiving, selling, and delivering parts in a friendly, efficient manner. You will greet customers, identify correct parts from manuals, and process invoices to ensure accurate billing.

Work primarily in a full-time role with standard hours, supporting the parts department and service team. This position emphasizes customer service and effective inventory control in a busy shop setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in parts sales preferred.
• Proficient with computers and basic accounting/ invoicing.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and answer parts calls with a positive attitude.
• Sell parts and services to meet customer needs.
• Identify correct parts using manuals (hard copy or electronic).
• Invoice customers and record transactions accurately.
• Stay current on manufacturer programmes to promote additional sales.
• Track and stock incoming/outgoing parts; organize inventory.
• Assist service technicians with parts and invoicing.
• Communicate back-order status to service manager.

Job Summary

Perform all functions related to the receiving, sales and delivery of parts in a professional and positive manner.

Essential Duties

• Greet customers/answer parts calls with a positive attitude
• Sell products and/or services to meet customer’s needs
• Refer to parts manuals (both hard copy and electronically) to identify exactly the right part(s) for the make, model and year of equipment being serviced
• Record sales, counter transactions, and parts payment collections; making sure all are billed out correctly
• Properly invoice customers paying close attention to account, pricing, freight, etc.
• Stay current on manufacturer/store parts and service programs in order to market and promote additional sales
• Track all incoming and outgoing parts
• Receive and stock inventory
• Organize warehouse
• Place stock orders
• Create returns to the supplier for items not needed
• Assist service technicians to assure they have the correct parts to complete the job
• Assist service department with gathering /posting parts and invoicing
• Check on back ordered parts for availability date and inform the service manager and technician
• Maintain condition of showroom and inventory, making sure all displays are current, clean, free of clutter, and functional at all times.
• All other task assigned by the Parts Manager

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in an indoor environment, but includes work in areas that are not climate controlled. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some evening and weekends as necessary. Competitive Wage and Benefit Package including Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance and 401K match.

Travel

No overnight travel is expected for this position. There will be occasional local day travel.
