Job Description
This is a fast-paced, full-time role and is best suited for someone who already understands ag parts and can hit the ground running. This role supports many different equipment lines and replacement parts. There’s a lot of product variety in this position, and that’s what makes it fun. The right candidate already has strong ag parts knowledge, catches on quickly, enjoys customer interaction, and takes ownership of helping customers find the right part while managing a steady volume of phone and walk-in requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner in person and over the phone.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate parts, products, and solutions.
- Provide accurate product information and use other Post Equipment team members as a resource when additional expertise is needed.
- Manage a steady volume of phone and walk-in requests while maintaining accuracy and a helpful, professional approach.
- Process over-the-counter and phone sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare quotes and submit orders using price lists, vendor catalogs, product literature, and the company sales process to ensure accuracy.
- Manage and grow customer accounts through regular outreach, timely follow-up, and strong ongoing customer relationships.
- Serve as a central point of contact for customers and identify opportunities to better support their operations and encourage repeat business.
- Keep management informed of sales activity and results through call reports, work plans, sales analyses, and other requested reporting.
- Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries and clear communication regarding order status.
- Process returns and exchanges according to company policy and assist with shipping and receiving of parts as needed.
- Respond to customer concerns in a timely manner and communicate concerns and solutions to management.
- Represent Post Equipment at company-sponsored events, professional group presentations, trade association meetings, trade shows, and other industry events as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: strong working knowledge of ag equipment parts; cattle feeder equipment/parts knowledge strongly preferred.
- Required: proven ability to learn multiple product lines quickly and confidently identify the correct part.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with a friendly, helpful, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy (quotes, orders, part numbers, shipping).
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus (willing to train).
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes in priority and complete tasks safely and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Forklift/pallet jack experience is a plus (willing to train).

- Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment of 50 lbs or more.
