Job summary

Premier Subaru of Fremont is looking to hire an Automotive Parts Counter. The role emphasizes direct sales with duties including taking orders, handling billing, and maintaining inventory.

You will build relationships with customers and support outside sales teams in a busy automotive environment. The position offers base pay with commissions/bonuses, full-time hours, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; auto parts sales experience preferred.
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills
• Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Ability to calculate figures including discounts, commissions, proportions, etc.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Exceptional phone skills to help customers feel comfortable during conversations
• General automotive knowledge preferred
• Professional personal appearance
• Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time

Responsibilities

• Solicit new business opportunities via direct mailings, phone sales, and in-person sales calls.
• Build strong positive relationships with current and future clients.
• Takes and fills wholesale parts orders in person or via telephone.
• Ensure proper billing for parts sold.
• Follow up with charging customers when payments are due.
• Keep a level of security for parts inventory.
• Assist in keeping inventory orderly.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Retrieve (pull) purchased parts from inventory or determine availability and submit orders as required.
• Keep accurate records of special-order parts.
• Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
• Process orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up at counter
• Receive and ship parts in accordance with company policies.
• Verify will-call and back-order files weekly and restock as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills
• Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Ability to calculate figures/amounts including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Exceptional phone skills: positive, enthusiastic, and attentive tone to help the customer feel comfortable during the conversation, clear enunciation, exceptional listening skills…. leave the Customer Satisfied.
• General automotive knowledge preferred.
• Professional personal appearance
• Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.

Pay Incentives

• The Parts Counter Sales Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $20.00 an hour.
• A fully trained and motivated salesperson (working full time) has unlimited earning potential and typically earns between $39,520 (with base pay, commissions, and bonuses) annually with all things being equal.
