Parts Clerk

Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Parts Clerk. The Parts Clerk will perform clerical and organization functions in the maintenance department. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

CBA Position:

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

• $19.88 - $24.14 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)

Key Responsibilities:

• Works closely with Mechanics and other personnel to ensure parts are available in a timely manner so that repairs can be made to keep buses in top operating condition.

• Prepares inventory master files and consolidations form to consolidate one part number when there are two identical parts on hand with different part numbers.

·Prepares Purchase Requisitions and Materials Shipped Reports for parts that must be exchanged or repaired by local vendors, and for all new parts and/or parts required.

·Physically checks all stock locations and transfers all parts in accordance with current procedures.

·Checks bench stock area in the maintenance shop daily and replenishes from back-up or new stock.

·Researches all part numbers to ensure they are valid.

·Ensures shelves and stock in the maintenance area are clean and arranged in a neat, orderly manner.

·Responsible for putting away all back-up bench stock in correct location in the parts department.

·Responsible for monitoring tank readings.

·Ensures all tools are returned by maintenance personnel and returned to their correct location.

·Ensures all wastepaper baskets are emptied and the lower floor is swept daily and mopped each week.

·Responsible for making all actual transfers of stock on any item/stock number consolidation. ·Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 1 to 3 years of parts room experience

• Auto parts experience desired

• Computer literate with strong attention to detail.

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
