Job summary

TrailersPlus in Lakeside, CA is seeking a Parts & Service Technician to support the repair, parts, and sales teams. The role focuses on inventory, service work, and customer deliveries.

You will perform PDIs/PLIs, assist with warranty work, operate forklifts and power tools, and maintain safety and cleanliness. The position requires a high school diploma and 6–12 months of related experience, plus strong mechanical skills and good communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months to 1 year related experience.

Responsibilities

• Completing daily processes that include parts sales, service work, inventory control, receiving product, and customer deliveries.
• Assist the management team with all service, parts/accessories installations, and warranty work.
• Receive delivery of trailers, parts, supplies, and submit paperwork to management for review.
• Completing Pre-Delivery Inspections-PDIs/Post Labor Inspections-PLIs.
• Use a consultative selling process to help fit the customer’s use of the trailer with appropriate parts and service.
• Maintain the store facilities and trailers to promote safety, security, and a professional appearance.
• Perform preventative and daily maintenance, minor repairs and daily inspections of company equipment and vehicles.
• Verify proper invoicing of all trailers, parts, and labor during the PDI and PLI process.
• Work strategically and collaboratively with the management staff and other departments.
• Attend and participate in all required team and company meetings.
• Investigate and assist with resolution of warranty, repair, facility, and equipment problems.
• Assist Store Management in trailer sales as needed; obtain and maintain a valid sales license if required by state law.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures related to managing the facility’s keys are executed and enforced.
• Assist Store Management in generating leads in the local market.
• Operate forklift and tractor (company cert required).
• Operate power tools and welding equipment (company cert required).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

The primary objective of the Parts & Service Technician (PST) is to generate a profitable Parts and Service department, while maintaining a clean and safe facility. This position assists in all aspects of the inbound and outbound inventory, installations, servicing trailers, and preparing products for presentation and demonstration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Completing daily processes that include parts sales, service work, inventory control, receiving product, and customer deliveries.

Assist the management team with all service, parts/accessories installations, and warranty work.

Receive delivery of trailers, parts, supplies, and submit paperwork to management for review.

Completing Pre-Delivery Inspections-PDIs/Post Labor Inspections-PLIs.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as six months to one year of related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and to speak effectively with customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The SRT must also be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry as needed.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledge of on-line computer systems is required for successful completion of certain job responsibilities and assignments. Basic keyboarding skills are also needed for efficiency.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The position also requires the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
