Job summary

Suburban Automotive Service in Warren, MI is seeking a Parts and Materials Coordinator to manage parts orders, liaise with technicians, and ensure accurate billing and inventory tracking. You will use GM ECVMs, NetSuite, and Excel to track parts from order to invoice.

The role requires valid driver's license, 18+ age, and experience with service parts. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to drive company vehicles.
• Dealer or service parts knowledge required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Customer service oriented with good time management.
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Submit orders for parts.
• Work with technicians to identify correct parts.
• Track parts ordering via Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Update GM Inventory Management systems like ECVMs.
• Receive and bill parts to the correct accounts.
• Bill out parts to repair orders in NetSuite.
• Research and follow up on parts issues and solutions.
• Receive and verify all dealer-installed (LPO) parts from accessory deliveries.
• Receive and verify all parts for retrofit operations.

As a Parts and Materials Coordinator, you will execute the responsibilities for the parts operation, work with the technicians to identify the correct parts for the job, order, track and invoice as parts are received and uphold the standards for GM safety and SAS Values.

Salary Overview

The pay rate for this role starts at $16 per hour based on experience.

Hours

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm.

Parts and Materials Coordinator Working Conditions and Physical Demands include

• Exposure to fumes, chemicals, and automotive fluids.
• This position is performed both inside and outside so weather conditions may include extreme heat and cold.
• This position is continually active and requires standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, all day.
• Must frequently lift and/or move items up to 30 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
