Job summary

Suburban Automotive Services, LLC is seeking a Parts and Materials Coordinator in Sterling Heights, MI. The role focuses on ordering parts, maintaining the parts cage, and assisting automotive technicians to secure the correct parts for repairs.

The pay rate starts at $19 per hour based on experience, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and automotive parts knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 0–1 year automotive parts experience preferred.
• Automotive parts knowledge required.
• Basic PC skills with MS Office understanding.
• Written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform billing of parts and process invoices in the company systems.
• Receive and inspect parts for damage and accuracy.
• Process and file parts paperwork.
• Update software system to reflect parts on order status.
• Coordinate between dispatch and the coordinator to meet deadlines.
• Operate a forklift.
• Order shop supplies as needed.
• Ship parts and other required items through FedEx.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

The Parts and Materials Coordinator is responsible for ordering parts, maintaining and organizing the parts cage, and assisting the automotive technicians in getting the proper parts to successfully repair the vehicle.

Salary Overview

The pay rate for this role starts at $19 per hour based on experience.

Hours

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Parts And Materials Coordinator Responsibilities Include

• Perform billing of parts and process any invoices in the company's software systems.
• Receive and inspect parts for damage and accuracy.

• Update the company software system to reflect the status of parts on order.
• Coordinate between dispatch and the coordinator to meet deadlines.

Parts And Materials Coordinator Qualifications And Skills

• 0 - 1 year of previous automotive parts experience (preferred).
• Automotive parts knowledge.
• Basic PC skills with a general understanding of Microsoft Office.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
• Must have superior attendance and be prompt and reliable.

Parts and Material Coordinator Working Conditions and Physical Demands include:

• This position involves frequent bending and lifting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule. May require occasional evening and/or weekend work.
