Job summary

Just Right Reader seeks a Partnerships Director based in NYC to lead district and school partnerships, from initial outreach to signed agreements. You will travel daily within the five boroughs and work remotely with a distributed team to tailor literacy solutions for districts.

You will build relationships with district leaders, understand local literacy priorities and funding sources, and drive a robust sales pipeline to expand adoption of Just Right Reader’s decodable books and classroom

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years as an instructional coach or school/district administrator (e.g., principal, assistant principal, etc).
• Strong understanding of foundational literacy and the science of reading.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment and contribute to a collaborative team.
• Comfort with storytelling, strategy, and using data to guide decisions.

The Role: Partnerships Director

At Just Right Reader, we create decodable books that are engaging, effective and enjoyable. We're hiring educators who have significant experience at the administration level of a school or school district to serve as a sales representative in our Partnership Director role.

As a Partnerships Director, you'll work directly with district and school leaders to understand their needs and bring solutions that help students learn to read. You will also play a major role in growing our presence across your region by developing relationships, attending regional events, and converting those relationships into long-term, revenue generating partnerships.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES DAILY TRAVEL WITHIN THE FIVE BOROUGHS

What You'll Do:

• Actively generate new opportunities by identifying leads, making outreach, and developing a robust pipeline
• Deeply understand local literacy priorities, funding sources, and district goals to position Just Right Reader as the right solution
• Represent Just Right Reader at regional conferences, events, and meetings with decision-makers
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff and successful long-term implementation
• Consistently meet or exceed your sales goals for district growth and product adoption

What You Bring:

• At least 3 years of experience as an instructional coach or school/district administrator (such as principal, assistant principal, assistant superintendent)
• Strong understanding of foundational literacy and the science of reading
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment and contribute to a collaborative team
• Comfort with storytelling, strategy, and working with data to guide decisions
• A natural drive to sell - this can mean you've closed deals in education, pitched programs to your district, or even worked retail in college. You're energized by the challenge of getting to "yes" and aren't afraid to own a sales quota
