Sexual Assault Response Center is seeking a Partnerships Coordinator to build and manage relationships with businesses, foundations, healthcare providers, and community leaders to advance survivor services and organizational sustainability.
You will develop MOUs, sponsorships, donor stewardship, and resource development, while ensuring compliant documentation and timely renewals across partnerships. Strong communication and organization are essential for success.
The Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships that strengthen the Sexual Assault Response Center's community presence, organizational sustainability, and financial support. This position serves as a primary liaison between SARC and businesses, corporations, foundations, civic organizations, healthcare providers, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, community leaders, individual supporters, and other external partners.
The Partnerships Coordinator focuses on strategic relationship development, community and corporate partnerships, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), sponsorships, donor stewardship, resource development, board recruitment support, and special events that generate financial, in-kind, or strategic support for SARC.
Because certain SARC funding sources restrict fundraising activities, the Partnerships Coordinator must maintain accurate documentation of activities and time to ensure expenses are allocated only to funding sources that permit the activity.
Develop and maintain relationships with businesses, corporations, foundations, civic organizations, healthcare providers, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, community leaders, and other organizations that support or complement SARC's mission.
Identify and cultivate new partnerships that can strengthen survivor services, increase community collaboration, expand organizational resources, or further SARC's mission.
Serve as a primary point of contact for organizations interested in establishing or expanding a formal partnership with SARC.
Schedule and participate in meetings with current and prospective partners.
Work closely with the Executive Director to identify strategic partnership opportunities and develop long-term relationships with key community stakeholders.
Maintain an organized system for tracking current and prospective partners, communications, commitments, sponsorships, contributions, agreements, and follow-up activities.
Represent SARC professionally at community meetings, networking events, civic organizations, chambers of commerce, and other appropriate functions.
Maintain an organized and current record of SARC's Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), partnership agreements, collaborative agreements, and other formal community partnerships.
Monitor MOU effective dates, expiration dates, renewal requirements, signatures, and other applicable deadlines.
Coordinate with the Executive Director and appropriate program staff to review existing MOUs and facilitate timely renewals or updates.
Communicate with partner organizations regarding MOU renewals, updates, changes in contacts, and other partnership needs.
Identify opportunities for new MOUs or formal partnership agreements that may strengthen survivor services, improve access to resources, expand referral relationships, or enhance coordination between SARC and community partners.
Assist with coordinating the development and execution of new MOUs in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Maintain current contact information for individuals responsible for each partner agreement.
Periodically review existing partnerships to identify opportunities to strengthen or expand collaboration.
Identify potential sources of unrestricted and other allowable financial and in-kind support.
Develop and coordinate corporate sponsorship opportunities for SARC events, awareness initiatives, and organizational activities.
Solicit and secure event sponsorships and other forms of community support as authorized by the Executive Director.
Develop sponsorship packages, partnership proposals, corporate giving materials, and other resource-development communications.
Cultivate relationships with individuals, businesses, corporations, civic organizations, and other prospective supporters.
Coordinate donor and sponsor stewardship, including acknowledgment letters, thank-you communications, recognition, updates, and continued engagement.
Assist with annual giving initiatives and other organizational resource-development strategies.
Coordinate in-kind donations and identify community resources that can reduce organizational expenses or support survivor services.
Maintain accurate records of contributions, sponsorships, pledges, in-kind support, and partner commitments.
Work with the Executive Director and Board leadership to identify the organization's current and future Board recruitment needs.
Identify prospective Board members who have professional expertise, community connections, leadership experience, or other skills that can strengthen SARC's governance and mission.
Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders and professionals who may be appropriate candidates for future Board service.
Maintain a prospective Board member pipeline for consideration by the Executive Director and Board leadership.
Assist with outreach to prospective Board candidates and coordinate introductory meetings with the Executive Director or appropriate Board representatives.
Provide prospective Board members with approved information regarding SARC's mission, services, expectations of Board service, and the Board application process.
Assist with coordinating Board applications and recruitment materials.
Support Board orientation and onboarding activities as requested.
Assist with identifying opportunities to increase Board engagement with community partners, organizational events, and SARC's mission.
The Partnerships Coordinator supports Board recruitment and engagement but does not independently appoint or approve Board members. Board membership remains subject to SARC's bylaws, governance policies, and applicable Board approval requirements.
Coordinate the partnership, sponsorship, and resource-development components of SARC special events.
Recruit event sponsors and community partners.
Coordinate sponsor benefits, recognition, signage, communications, and fulfillment of sponsorship commitments.
Work collaboratively with the Community Outreach Coordinator on events where community education and organizational partnership activities overlap.
Assist the Executive Director with identifying opportunities for community events that increase organizational support, relationships, and visibility.
Evaluate event results, including sponsorship participation, community partnerships, expenses, and organizational benefit.
Develop strategies for maintaining relationships with existing supporters and partners beyond individual events, agreements, or contributions.
Maintain regular communication with community partners and organizational supporters.
Coordinate appropriate recognition of sponsors, businesses, community partners, and supporters through organizational communications, social media, events, and other approved channels.
Provide the Executive Director with regular updates regarding prospective partnerships, MOUs, sponsorships, Board prospects, community support, commitments, and follow-up activities.
Maintain a schedule for appropriate follow-up and continued engagement with key organizational relationships.
The Partnerships Coordinator must understand that fundraising, solicitation, and certain resource-development activities may be unallowable under specific federal, state, local, or private grants.
The employee is responsible for accurately documenting activities and time so that fundraising, sponsorship solicitation, donor development, and other restricted activities are not charged to funding sources that prohibit those costs.
Allowable partnership coordination, MOU management, interagency collaboration, and other community relationship activities funded by a grant must be directly related to the objectives and requirements of that funding source.
When responsibilities include both allowable program partnership activities and restricted resource-development activities, staff time and associated expenses must be appropriately separated and documented.
Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, nonprofit management, public relations, community development, or a related field preferred. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience in community relations, nonprofit development, business development, sponsorships, donor relations, external relations, or partnership management preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop, and maintain professional relationships.
Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
Ability to communicate SARC's mission effectively to businesses, community leaders, prospective supporters, Board candidates, and partner organizations.
Ability to track multiple partnerships, agreements, deadlines, and relationship-development activities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Executive Director and organizational leadership.
Some evening and weekend work may be required for community meetings, Board-related activities, special events, and organizational functions.
Local travel throughout SARC's service area may be required.
The employee must maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all SARC policies regarding survivor privacy, organizational information, donor information, and partner relationships.
This job description describes the general nature and responsibilities of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Responsibilities may be modified based on organizational needs, funding requirements, strategic priorities, and program needs.
