Partnerships & Business Development Manager

TeamUp | Austin, TX | Local, Field-Based Role

About the Opportunity

TeamUp is a leading fitness business management platform helping studios, gyms, and fitness entrepreneurs run and grow their businesses.

We're expanding our presence in the U.S., starting with Austin, Texas, and looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial person to help us build our local presence from the ground up.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves fitness, enjoys meeting people, and gets excited about building something new. You'll be the face of TeamUp in Austin, connecting with fitness business owners, building relationships, generating sales opportunities, and finding creative ways to make TeamUp known throughout the local fitness community.

  • Location: This is a field based role in Austin, Texas. Must be locally based and available to travel throughout the greater Austin metropolitan area.
  • Schedule: Flexible and field-based, with occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends to accommodate studio visits, fitness classes, and community events.
  • Employment: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for regular travel to partner locations and events.
  • Compensation: Annual base salary of $90,000.
  • Support & Resources: You'll collaborate closely with TeamUp's Sales and Marketing teams and have access to a dedicated budget to support local partnerships, events, and market activations.

What You'll Do

  • Build relationships and generate business
  • Get out into Austin's fitness community, meeting studio owners, gym operators, personal trainers, and fitness entrepreneurs.
  • Identify prospective TeamUp customers and proactively build relationships through studio visits, calls, social media, events, and referrals.
  • Generate qualified sales opportunities and work closely with TeamUp's sales team to turn relationships into customers.
  • Build strong relationships with our existing Austin customers, helping them become advocates and referral sources.
  • Identify up-and-coming trainers and fitness entrepreneurs who may be looking to launch or grow their own businesses.

Make TeamUp known in Austin

  • Find creative, scrappy ways to introduce TeamUp to the local fitness community.
  • Plan and execute small local events that bring fitness business owners together.
  • Build partnerships with influential local trainers, studio owners, fitness organizations, and complementary businesses.
  • Represent TeamUp at relevant local fitness events and networking opportunities.
  • Help create authentic local content by connecting our marketing team with customers, trainers, and interesting fitness businesses.

Examples of what you might do

  • Spend a day visiting 10 Pilates, yoga, and strength studios, introducing yourself to owners and learning about their businesses.
  • Organize a dinner or happy hour for 20–30 Austin fitness business owners to network and share ideas.
  • Partner with several local studios to host a TeamUp-sponsored fitness week featuring classes, workouts, and community events.
  • Identify five emerging personal trainers and help introduce them to TeamUp as they build their own businesses.
  • Outbound prospecting of local providers to identify potential on‑site visits or social engagements to connect and share more information about TeamUp

What We're Looking For

  • Relevant experience. You bring experience in sales, business development, fitness, hospitality, events, or community building, with a passion for connecting people and creating opportunities.
  • Active in the fitness community. You're excited to immerse yourself in the local fitness scene and are willing and able to regularly attend and actively participate in fitness classes and partner events as an essential part of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • A natural go-getter. You're proactive, resourceful, persistent, and comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for direction.
  • Passionate about fitness. You genuinely enjoy the fitness world and are excited to spend your days around studios, trainers, and fitness entrepreneurs.
  • Sales-oriented. You enjoy meeting new people, starting conversations, building relationships, and turning those relationships into business opportunities.
  • Entrepreneurial. You're comfortable working independently, trying new ideas, and figuring things out as you go.
  • Well-connected or eager to get connected in Austin. You understand the local community and are excited to become part of its fitness ecosystem.
  • Creative and hands‑on. You're equally comfortable planning an event, walking into a studio, making outreach calls, or rolling up your sleeves to solve a problem.
  • Organized and accountable. You can manage your own schedule, follow up consistently, and track your progress.

What Success Looks Like

Your primary goal is to help TeamUp build a meaningful customer base and reputation in Austin.

In your first 90 days, we'd expect you to:

  • Meet and build relationships with our existing Austin customers.
  • Visit 20–30+ prospective fitness businesses.
  • Build an active pipeline of prospective TeamUp customers and referral partners.
  • Organize several local activations that introduce TeamUp to Austin's fitness business community.
  • Generate qualified introductions and sales opportunities for the TeamUp sales team.

Over time, success means growing our Austin customer base, increasing referrals and sales opportunities, and helping TeamUp develop a repeatable approach to entering new U.S. markets.

Why Join TeamUp?

This isn't a traditional desk job or a role where you'll simply execute someone' else's marketing calendar.

You'll have the opportunity to help build TeamUp's U.S. presence, develop relationships across Austin's fitness community, experiment with new ideas, and see the direct impact of your work.

We're looking for someone who will take ownership, bring energy, and help us make things happen.
