AgVend is seeking a Partner Strategy Manager in Austin to own a portfolio of ag retail partnerships and drive long-term outcomes. You’ll lead executive relationships, shape the strategic roadmap, and convert platform capabilities into measurable business value through data-driven storytelling.
You’ll coordinate with a PEM and a PMM, orchestrate cross-functional resources, and proactively surface opportunities while managing risk. Travel up to 50% is expected as needed.
The Partner Strategy Manager is the strategic owner of a portfolio of ag retail partnerships. You do not manage accounts — you drive them. You own the executive relationship, the long-term roadmap, and the commercial outcomes that determine whether a partnership grows, stagnates, or churns.
This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology adoption. You work with senior leaders and decision-makers at agricultural retailers to translate AgVend’s platform into measurable, lasting business value — and you use data, AI, and cross-functional resources to do it at scale.
You operate within a pod alongside a Partner Experience Manager (who owns day-to-day execution and support) and a Partner Marketing Manager (who owns adoption campaigns and communications). Your job is to set the strategic direction of the pod and keep every partner moving forward.
A high-performing PSM in 2027 spends the majority of their time on strategic, revenue-generating activity — not troubleshooting tickets or chasing configuration issues. Our Partner Retailers view you as their strategic partner and thought leader. They come to you for advice and implement your solutions to increase ROI.
Strategic (target: 75%+ of time)
Tactical (target: 25% or less)
2–6 years Experience in sales, account management, customer success, or partnership management — ideally within agribusiness or ag technology.
Ag industry knowledge. You understand the crop input supply chain and can hold a credible conversation with everyone from a frontline agronomist to a cooperative CEO.
Commercial acumen. You have experience owning revenue targets, leading pricing or contract conversations, and closing expansion deals.
Technology fluency. You are comfortable with SaaS platforms, CRM tools, and data analysis. You are proficient with AI tools or eager and able to build that proficiency quickly.
Communication range. You are as effective in an executive boardroom as you are on a field visit. Written and verbal communication is clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate.
Ownership mindset. You treat every partnership as your business. You do not wait to be told what to do — you identify what needs to happen and make it happen.
Strategic thinking. You think beyond the immediate ask. You connect day-to-day execution to long-term outcomes and help partners see around corners.
Relationship depth. You build genuine trust quickly and invest in it over time. Partners trust you because you follow through.
Solutions-oriented. You do not wait for problems to escalate. You see them coming, build a plan, and act.
Curiosity. You want to understand your partners’ businesses at a deep level — their goals, pressures, competitive landscape — and you use that understanding to deliver real value.
Adaptability. You thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. No task is too small and no idea is too big.
AI-forward mindset. You see AI as a force multiplier, not a threat. You experiment, adopt, and advocate for tools that make you and your partners more effective.
Humility. The best outcomes come from great teams. You seek help when needed, give credit generously, and are always open to feedback.
People first. We invest in your growth, career, and life outside of work. We want you here long-term and we act like it.
Ownership and autonomy. You have the authority to make decisions, drive change, and deliver for your partners without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Clear expectations. Performance goals are set quarterly, rooted in company values, and tied to outcomes that matter.
Competitive compensation. Base salary and performance incentives that reflect the value you create.
Company ownership. Stock options that tie your success to AgVend’s success.
Travel. We believe in showing up in person. Partner visits are expected and all travel expenses are covered. Travel up to 50% of the time.
Industry-leading health coverage. Comprehensive health insurance for you and your family.
