Job summary

Adyen is seeking a North America Partner Engineering Manager to lead a team of Partner Solutions Engineers, guiding architectural decisions and strategic initiatives across partnerships. You will mentor engineers, manage complex integrations, and influence product roadmaps while ensuring high-impact collaboration with partners and internal stakeholders.

The role is based in the Chicago office, with an office-first culture and no remote-only option.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of direct line management experience of hybrid technical and customer-facing teams.
• Strong understanding of web development and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Working experience with APIs and ability to read and troubleshoot code.
• Proven ability to learn new technologies and understand complex systems (APIs, databases, SDKs).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable leading technical discussions with VP+ level leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Partner Solutions Engineers to execute complex system integration projects.
• Oversee team as long-term technical contacts for partners’ engineering and product teams; guide on Adyen’s platform capabilities.
• Provide ongoing support for technical inquiries and hands-on assistance during implementations; lead troubleshooting efforts.
• Drive architectural recommendations to optimize partner integration and value for end-customers.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering stakeholders to advocate for partner needs and influence roadmaps.
• Implement new initiatives such as creating roles, tooling migrations, and process formalization.
• Balance team and company needs with clear internal and external communication.
