Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced LIHTC Attorney/Partner (7-15+ years) to join our New York real estate practice in Manhattan. You will structure, negotiate, and close LIHTC transactions and oversee complex affordable housing developments with a nationally recognized platform.

The role requires strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills, plus the ability to independently manage transactions while collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

  • 7-15+ years of LIHTC, affordable housing, or related transactional experience.
  • Experience representing developer-side clients preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of affordable housing programs and financing structures.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage transactions while collaborating across teams.
  • Admission to the New York Bar.

  • Structure, negotiate, and close LIHTC transactions and affordable housing developments.
  • Advise clients on tax credit financing, multifamily development, acquisition, and preservation projects.
  • Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, financing documents, partnership agreements, and related transaction documents.
  • Coordinate with developers, investors, lenders, public agencies, and opposing counsel throughout transactions.
  • Provide strategic counsel regarding affordable housing regulatory and compliance considerations.
  • Manage deal execution and support business development initiatives.

About the role

A highly regarded real estate practice is seeking an experienced Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Partner Attorney to join its growing team in New York. Key Responsibilities
  • Structure, negotiate, and close LIHTC transactions and affordable housing developments
