Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of Clifton is seeking a patient, engaging tutor to provide academic assistance and homework help in a positive, supportive after-school setting at 181 Colfax Ave, Clifton, NJ. The role focuses on reinforcing classroom learning, improving study habits, and helping students build confidence in their academic skills, working closely with staff to monitor progress.

Part-time, in-person position from Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM–6:00 PM, with potential for additional hours on

Qualifications

Prior experience working with children or tutoring students preferred.
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide homework assistance and academic support to students in a variety of subjects.
Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and confidence.
Reinforce classroom learning and help students develop effective study and organizational skills.
Adapt tutoring methods to meet the individual learning needs of each student.
Track student progress and communicate updates to program staff as needed.
Encourage good study habits, responsibility, and a love for learning.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all times.
Support program activities and uphold the Boys & Girls Club’s mission and values.
