Job summary

St. Viator Elementary School in Chicago seeks a Part-Time Athletic Director to lead the school’s interscholastic sports program. The role coordinates coaches, volunteers, and families, ensuring compliance with Archdiocese policies and safety standards.

The AD will manage schedules, budgets, and league participation, attend CCYL meetings, and obtain required certifications (Illinois concussion, DCFS reporter training, VIRTUS) before start date; after-school and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest and background in athletics and youth development.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively with diverse groups.
• Ability to step in when coaches are not available to maintain programming.
• Experience in education, coaching, or athletic program administration is preferred.
• Must complete Illinois concussion certification prior to start date and renew biennially.
• Must complete DCFS mandated reporter training, VIRTUS certification, and background check prior to start date.
• Availability during after-school hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between coaches, parents, student-athletes, staff, and administrators.
• Develop and maintain an athletic handbook outlining program philosophy and conduct.
• Communicate the athletic program’s philosophy to stakeholders and ensure adherence.
• Attend CCYL and St. Viator Athletic Association meetings and represent the school.
• Serve as Commissioner of St. Viator Volleyball League Invitational.
• Schedule, supervise, and manage volunteers and safety guidelines.
• Develop practice, game, and tournament schedules; manage budget and fees.
• Submit timely financial reports and ensure compliance with local guidelines.
