Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking an Athletic Director to oversee a comprehensive high school athletics program. You will supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, maintain eligibility records, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations to support student-athlete success.

The role requires coordinating schedules, transportation, and safety plans while reporting to the Executive Director of CPS Sports Administration and collaborating with building principals and OSA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education from an accredited college.
• NIAAA Certified Athletic Administrator credential.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in sports program administration.

Responsibilities

• Administers and oversees the high school athletics program.
• Supervises staff including assistant ADs, coaches, trainers, and support staff.
• Maintains records, eligibility lists, and related compliance documentation.
• Develops schedules, coordinates transportation, and ensures safety plans.
• Reports to Executive Director and collaborates with principals and OSA.
