Job summary

Youth Services Center in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Part-Time Cook to prepare meals for residents and staff. You will restock, clean, and handle related paperwork while adhering to food safety standards.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year in kitchen or food services; ServSafe certification should be attainable within six months. Hours are 10:30am–6pm, with minimum 16 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and more than one year of experience working in kitchen or food services.
• Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within six months of employment
• Knowledge of food safety standards and cooking procedures
• Ability to use grill, oven, fryers and other kitchen equipment

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cooking and serving meals, including sides and salads, for residents and staff of the Youth Services Center.
• Restocks shelves and rotates stock.
• Washes, dries, and puts away dishes.
• Sweeps and mops floors and rubber matting.
• Responsible for washing all equipment, including, but not limited to the grill, deep fryer, and baskets.
• Documents meals for tracking purposes.
• Prepares and distributes snacks twice daily.
• Separates trash and recyclables.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
