Job summary

The Youth Development Specialist- Social Recreation role at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley focuses on youth safety and engaging programs. Under the Program Director, you’ll deliver high-yield social recreation activities, guide volunteers, and ensure a positive club experience aligned with the organization’s mission and values.

This part-time position requires 10–25 hours weekly, with training provided. If 21 or older, driving may be involved between BGCAZ sites.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED required.
Passion for working with youth.
Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with new technology.
If 21 or older, maintains a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility to drive Club vehicles.
Safety oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs and activities using a formal curriculum.
Directly runs programming and high-yield activities in assigned area.
Facilitate diverse social and recreational programs that foster teamwork, inclusivity and positive social skills.
Plan and coordinate special events and tournaments to showcase youth’s achievements.
Administers outcome measurement tools.
Delivers programs with an enthusiastic, high-energy, positive attitude
