Job summary

University Settlement Society of New York seeks a part-time after-school program coordinator to support day-to-day operations of summer and after-school programs in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. You will work closely with the Director, lead staff and volunteers, and engage families through outreach.

The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on aligning school-day and after-school activities.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or HSE required with 5 years of after-school experience; 4-year degree preferred.
• Strong supervisory and coordination experience
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team and maintain clear communication with all team members via email.
• Assist Director in overseeing day-to-day operations of summer day camp, school recess and afterschool programs.
• Attend event committee meetings and team meetings as assigned.
• Assist in parent outreach via phone, memo, and personal meetings.
• Supervise staff, tutors, and volunteers; coordinate with school-day staff to align curricula.
• Develop and implement curriculum, lesson plans, schedules, and rosters; assist with trainings.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; document enrollment and attendance daily.
• Track attendance and enrollments; manage vendor accounts and supplies.
• Build partnerships with local officials and community leaders.
• Coordinate services for students with disabilities; communicate needs to DYCD/DOE as required.
