Job summary

University Settlement Society of New York is seeking a part-time after-school program staff member to support day camp, recess, and after-school activities. You will assist in curriculum development, supervise staff, and coordinate with school-day staff to ensure alignment with the day program.

You will also help with parent outreach, attendance documentation, and vendor coordination while maintaining a safe, engaging environment for youth and families.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or HSE required, 5 years in after-school role preferred.
• Experience supervising or coordinating staff is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to engage families and youth.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team and maintain clear communication via email.
• Assist Director in overseeing day-to-day operations of summer day camp, school recess and afterschool programs.
• Attend event committee meetings and weekly team meetings.
• Assist in parent outreach via phone calls, memos, and meetings.
• Supervise group leaders, tutors, outreach staff, and support staff.
• Liaise between after-school and school-day staff to align curricula.
• Develop and implement curriculum, lesson plans, schedules, rosters, etc.
• Facilitate staff orientations and trainings.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; document enrollment and attendance.
• Register participants and track attendance daily and annually.
• Order supplies and coordinate with vendors; participate in trainings.
• Oversee interns and volunteers; coordinate with DYCD/DOE incidents.
