Job summary

Foundation Communities Inc is seeking a part-time Youth Program Assistant in Austin, TX. You will lead daily activities and engage K-5 students in education-centered after-school and summer programs, both in-person and virtually when needed.

Responsibilities include planning activities, assisting with homework, maintaining a tidy classroom, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring youth safety while following CDC guidelines. Flexibility to fit high school schedules is also preferred.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the United States and able to pass a background check.
• 18 years of age or older; working toward a high school diploma by year-end.
• Enjoys working with children in grades K-5.
• Flexible to meet changing work needs and schedules.
• Ability to lead fitness activities and supervise sports.
• Organize activities and exercise sound judgment.
• Interact with a range of age groups.
• Available to work Monday through Friday, 2:30–6:15 PM; start time may flex.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead activities in arts, STEM/STEAM, reading, and fitness for youth in-person or virtual.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, emailing, and web search.
• Willing to learn online educational tools such as Google Classroom, Zoom, and ClassDojo.
• Prepare learning environments, lessons, and supplies for on-site and online activities.
• Assist children with homework and enrichment activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom and common areas.
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for diverse participants.
• Serve as a positive role model and supervise youth safety.
• Maintain accurate program documentation.
• Follow CDC guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Comply with all policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
