Job summary

Wellstone in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced therapist for our Children and Adolescent Mobile Crisis Team. This part-time, hourly role focuses on crisis intervention, mental health support, and family resources for youths 3–18.

You will collaborate with a Co-Therapist, Program Manager, and Care Coordinator to develop treatment plans and provide ongoing care, including documentation in the EMR. The position requires a Master’s degree in a Social Sciences field with clinical practicum,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a Social Sciences field with a clinical practicum or internship.
• At least 1 year post-masters clinical experience preferred.
• Valid Alabama Driver’s License with required Personal Liability Insurance Automobile Insurance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with intermediate computer skills.
• Experience with maintaining organization and documentation.
• Preferred minimum of one year working with seriously emotionally disturbed children (SED).
• Preferred experience with crisis intervention and management.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours
• Ability to work as a member of a Team

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and/or family therapy with children and adolescent population ages three to eighteen.
• Work with Program Manager and co-therapist to assist families on a 24/7 call basis.
• Provide Crisis Intervention for client and client’s family when called.
• Perform initial assessments, intakes and document them for client’s EMR.
• Prepare treatment plans with client including goals.
• Facilitate warm hand-off to Co-Therapist and Care Coordinator.
• Obtain certification in the CANS System.
• Conduct CANS Assessments.
• Work closely with Co-Therapist, Care Coordinator & guardians regarding client’s needs.
• Participate in departmental/divisional meetings as required.
• Complete billing documentation timely and accurately.
• Maintain licensure education requirements with ADMH State Standards.
• Perform outreach in partnership with DHR.
• 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends twice a month.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
