Job summary

Mobile Crisis Team of Cullman County is seeking a licensed mental health professional to join a two-person, master- or bachelor-level (or peer support) team. The role is a full-time third-shift position (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) on a rotating weekend schedule, with 12-hour shifts and extensive crisis intervention duties.

You’ll conduct therapy with children and adolescents, perform assessments, document in the EMR, and coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team to provide least-restrictive crisis

Qualifications

  • Masters in a social sciences field with a clinical practicum or internship
  • Minimum 1-year postmasters clinical experience preferred
  • Acceptable 3 year driving record with valid license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours
  • Ability to work as a member of a team

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and/or family therapy with children and adolescent population ages three to eighteen
  • Work with Program Manager and Co-Therapist to assist families on a 24/7 call basis
  • Provide Crisis Intervention for client and client’s family when called
  • Perform initial assessments, intakes and prepare documentation for client’s EMR
  • Prepare treatment plans with client including goals
  • Facilitate warm hand-off to Co-Therapist and/or Care Coordinator
  • Obtain certification in the CANS System
  • Conduct CANS Assessments
  • Work with co-therapist, care coordinator & guardians regarding client’s needs
  • Attend departmental/divisional meetings as required
  • Complete billing documentation timely and accurately
  • Maintain licensure education requirements per AL state standards
  • Participate in outreach with DHR
  • Work 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends twice a month
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Job Description: The Mobile Crisis Team of Cullman County is two-person team (Master level/Bachelor level or Peer Support) available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year to respond to Cullman County residents in mental health and behavioral health crisis. The Mobile Crisis Team assists with resolving immediate crisis through assessment, direct intervention, or a referral. Referrals are received through the community-stake holders, 988, and other community members. The goal is to provide the least restrictive care while avoiding overuse of the local emergency department, law enforcement, and inpatient hospitalization.
