Job summary

The Boys' Club of New York is seeking a part-time Media Instructor to design and facilitate engaging media programs for members aged 10–21. You will introduce photography, videography, editing, podcasting, and digital storytelling, combining technical skill with youth-development practices.

You will guide beginners and offer advanced opportunities, helping youth create meaningful projects while fostering creativity, collaboration and communication in a safe studio.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth development, education, or afterschool settings.
• Experience in podcasting, audio production, digital media or broadcasting.
• Ability to teach podcasting concepts in an engaging, age-appropriate manner.
• Strong communication, storytelling, interviewing and organizational skills.
• Experience with podcast production from pre-production to post-production.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of a group of 10-21 boys.
• Develop and facilitate an engaging podcasting program for members.
• Teach fundamentals of podcast production: concept, storytelling, interviewing, recording, editing.
• Guide members through the full podcast production process from idea to episode.
• Create structured lessons and production schedules for episodes.
• Mentor members to build confidence speaking on microphone and in interviews.
• Ensure a safe, creative studio environment while managing groups.
• Demonstrate proper use of microphones, recording gear and software.
