Job summary

Think Together in Perris, California is seeking an Older Youth Leader (OYLS) to work part-time with an assigned class of approximately 20-25 students, providing mentoring, homework help, and enrichment activities.

The role requires English proficiency, a minimum of 22 years old, 48 college units or a Bachelor's, and experience with groups of 10+ students; bi-literate Spanish is a plus. Pay rate is $21.50 per hour and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• 48 college units or 60 college quarter units OR a Bachelor's Degree are required.
• Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public school setting.
• Minimum age of 22.
• At least six months experience with 10+ students in classroom, afterschool, or recreation.
• Advanced Math and English skills (grades 6-12).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Bi-literate in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a positive adult role model for older youth in the program.
• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using provided curriculum.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for older youth.
• Support youth in making positive behavior choices and disciplines when appropriate.
• Engage youth by following and assisting in lesson plans.
