Job summary

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is seeking a part-time Youth Engagement Assistant to support the Newcomer Youth Career Connect Project through outreach, workshops, event coordination, and administrative duties.

The role emphasizes engaging diverse youth, coordinating activities, and maintaining records, with evenings and weekends as needed. Compensation includes $23.68/hour, paid sick time, and a supportive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or have completed secondary or post-secondary education.
• Strong leadership skills demonstrated through school or community involvement.
• Ability to work collaboratively with youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Awareness of language barriers and cultural challenges faced by youth newcomers.
• Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish, Dari, Farsi or Tamil is an asset.
• Proficiency with digital tools and social media (Canva, Teams, Zoom, Instagram).
• Strong organizational skills to support planning and delivery of activities and programs.

Responsibilities

• Support outreach and promotion of the Newcomer Youth Career Connect Project through community networks, schools, and partners.
• Assist in planning and coordinating youth-focused excursions and community engagement events.
• Assist in organizing and supporting youth career development training sessions, including logistics and follow-up.
• Facilitate training sessions and skill-building activities to boost confidence and career readiness of newcomer youth.
• Support day-to-day program operations by organizing supplies and materials for youth activities.
• Provide administrative support as needed and maintain accurate project records.
