Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County in Elkhart, IN seeks a part-time OxBow KidsCare Youth Development Professional - PM to support after-school programming for ages 5–12. The role emphasizes safe supervision, engaging activities, and positive youth development.

Responsibilities include supervising youth, delivering activities, building positive relationships with members and school partners, and assisting with attendance and program records. 18.75 hours/week, 1:45pm–5:30pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Demonstrated competence working with youth ages 5–12.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with high energy and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to move continuously throughout program areas (walking figure-8 patterns, bending, kneeling, reaching).
• Must be able to monitor children visually and audibly in various settings.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move objects up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage youth throughout daily program activities with full visibility.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being; enforce expectations and maintain clean spaces.
• Respond to injuries, emergencies, and behavioral concerns per policies.
• Support safe transitions and structured supervision indoors and outdoors.
• Deliver fun, educational activities promoting learning and growth.
• Foster belonging, competence, usefulness, and positive youth outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with members, families, coworkers, and schools.
• Assist with attendance tracking, records, and required administrative tasks.
