FedEx Corporation in Chicago is seeking a part-time Switcher to move trailers within the yard and load/unload packages safely. You will operate yard equipment, scan labels, and coordinate with dispatch while lifting and handling packages during two to four hour shifts.

Prior experience is not required; a valid driver’s license and a DOT file are needed. Expect teamwork in a fast-paced environment with potential outdoor conditions.

Mansioni

• Performs trailer switches moving a parked trailer from the yard to a load/unload door or from a door to the yard.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management and/or central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Understands and demonstrates effective yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Loads and unloads packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, conveyor system carts and load gratings.
• Sorts packages by scanning labels and charts and memorizing information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
