Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a similar field.
• Proficiency in writing, grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading.
• Must complete 10 hours of College Reading & Learning Association tutor training within the first year of employment (paid time).

Responsibilities

• Be in the Writing Center ready to tutor during scheduled hours each week.
• Follow the policies of the COCC Tutoring and Testing department governing tutors.
• Follow the CRLA Tutor Code of Ethics.
• Tutor COCC students in reading, writing, and study skills to support instruction.
• Complete 10 hours of CRLA tutor training within the first year (paid time).
• Be familiar with academic writing assignments and structures.
• Perform other essential functions to support the position.
