Job summary

Eastern Florida State College on the Palm Bay Campus is seeking a part-time Learning Specialist (Writing) to support students in the Academic Success Center. The hourly rate is $16.00, with up to 28 hours per week.

A Bachelor’s degree and strong tutoring/teaching experience in writing are required, along with basic computer skills and the ability to work with high-risk students. Evening and weekend availability may be required; fingerprinting will be required at the candidate’s expense.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Tutoring/teaching experience in writing-related skills.
• Basic computer skills and patience to work with high-risk students.
• Valid Florida Driver’s license required.
• Fingerprinting required and candidate pays fee ($36).
• Understanding of Equal Access/Equal Opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and assist students in developing college-level writing skills.
• Interact with and support students in the Academic Success Center.
• Contribute to operations of the center and related duties.
