Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver specialized wound care in skilled nursing facilities. You will diagnose, treat, and manage chronic and acute wounds, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize resident wellbeing.

Responsibilities include prescribing medications per Arkansas law, ordering tests, and collaborating with primary care providers, while leveraging wound care products and devices to improve healing outcomes for long-term

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in AR.
• Board certification required.
• Experience with wound care in long-term care setting.
• Comfort diagnosing/ treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and Kennedy ulcers.
• Familiar with wound care products and wound VACs.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR law.
• Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular basis to discuss changes in condition and care plan.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of AR.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
