Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions seeks a Part-Time Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver wound care services in long-term care facilities in Arkansas. You will diagnose, treat, and manage wounds, including arterial, venous, and diabetic ulcers, while coordinating with facility staff and primary care physicians.

The role requires an AR NP license, board certification, and comfort with prescribing under state law. Experience with wound vacs and advanced wound products is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in AR.
• Board Certification as NP.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Wound-care clinical experience, including chronic or infected wounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances as allowed by AR law.
• Order, review, and follow up treatments and diagnostic tests.
• Communicate with nursing home staff about patient condition changes.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of AR.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
