Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound NP to deliver specialized wound care to residents in skilled nursing facilities. The role involves developing treatment plans, ordering diagnostics, and coordinating with the facility’s care team.

The candidate must hold an AR NP license, be board certified, and have experience with chronic wounds, arterial/venous etiologies, and wound care products. Familiarity with wound vacs and DME is preferred; part-time schedule available.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification as NP.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in wound care and geriatric settings.
• Experience diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, or Kennedy ulcers.
• Familiarity with wound care products and wound VACs.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care for long-term care residents in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances per Arkansas law.
• Order, review, and follow up on treatments and diagnostic tests.
• Communicate with nursing home staff regarding changes in condition and care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician and interdisciplinary team.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

Wound Np Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of AR.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
