Job summary
Aston Group is seeking a Wound Care Nurse (RN) on a part-time basis for weekends to provide specialized wound management for residents. The role emphasizes clinical accuracy, documentation, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.
The Wound Care Nurse will assess wounds, develop individualized plans, monitor healing, and ensure treatments follow evidence-based standards.
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license.
- BSN preferred; graduate of accredited RN program.
- Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience.
- Peripheral IV certification.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess wounds and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Monitor healing progress and document changes.
- Maintain accurate care plans for all skin impairments.
- Conduct weekly wound rounds with the wound consultant.
- Perform and document weekly wound measurements.
- Assess and manage surgical, arterial, venous, and complex wounds.
- Document all treatments, changes, and follow-ups thoroughly.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on wound care procedures.
- Demonstrate wound care techniques to caregivers for staff competency.
- Communicate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
