Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver wound care services to residents in long-term care facilities. You will prescribe medications, review treatments, and coordinate with nursing and physicians to optimize care.

The role requires an Arkansas NP license, board certification, wound care experience, and comfort with EMR systems. A collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment is offered with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification in a relevant NP field.
• DEA licensure (optional).
• Clinical experience in adult, family, or geriatric care and wound management.
• Comfort diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous or mixed wounds.
• Ability to stage pressure injuries per NPIAP guidelines.
• Familiar with advanced wound care products and wound vacs.
• Experience in long-term care settings and EMR use.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care residents.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances per AR law.
• Order and review treatments and diagnostic tests and follow up.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with nursing staff.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians and care teams.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

Wound Np Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
