CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound NP to deliver wound care services to residents in long-term care facilities. You will prescribe medications, order and review treatments, and coordinate with nursing home staff and the primary care physician to optimize care plans.
Candidates must hold an unrestricted KY NP license, board certification, and have wound care experience in geriatric settings, with comfort handling diabetes-related and vascular wounds. DEA license is optional.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.
Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with KY Law.
Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.

Collaborate with the primary care physician.
Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Kentucky.
Board Certification.
DEA licensure (Optional)
Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
Experience working in a long-term care setting.
Ability to work with an EMR.
Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
