Job summary
CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound services to residents in long-term care facilities. The role focuses on advanced wound care and medical management in an interdisciplinary setting.
The NP will diagnose and treat wounds, prescribe medications including controlled substances as permitted by Kentucky law, and coordinate treatments with nursing staff and primary care physicians to support patient care plans.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted NP license in Kentucky.
- Board Certification as nurse practitioner.
- Wound care experience in long-term care settings.
- Experience with wound vacs and advanced wound care products.
- Familiar with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous wounds.
- Proficient with EMR and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Provide wound care services for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances in accordance with KY law.
- Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
- Communicate with nursing home staff regularly about condition changes and care plans.
- Collaborate with the primary care physician.
