Job summary

Nevada State University invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty to teach WMST 101: Introduction to Women’s Studies, in-person and online. Applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Adjunct faculty are compensated at $1,160 per credit hour, and courses are 3 credits each. Ideal candidates hold an MA in social sciences with relevant Women’s and Gender Studies coursework and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring

Qualifications

• M.A in social sciences with relevant graduate coursework in Women’s and Gender studies.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
• M.A or Graduate Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies, or closely related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
• Previous teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate WMST courses in accordance with established course objectives and departmental standards.
• Prepare and deliver engaging instruction that promotes student learning and academic success.
• Develop and maintain course materials, assignments, assessments, and grading criteria as appropriate.
• Utilize instructional technologies and learning management systems to support teaching and communication.
• Collaborate with department faculty and staff as needed to support program and student success.
