Job summary

Nevada State University invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty to support Workforce Development programs across Nevada. Open to in-person, online, or hybrid courses, adjuncts are compensated per credit hour and selected as-needed based on program and course availability.

Candidates should have relevant qualifications and a strong commitment to inclusive, learner-centered instruction, with opportunities to contribute to developing new content and assessments.

Qualifications

• Youth Programs: High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Professional & Continuing Education Programs: Bachelor’s degree or five years of related industry experience with appropriate industry-recognized certification(s) in teaching area or closely related field.
• Demonstrated evidence of effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and technology skills.
• Strong commitment to teaching, mentorship, educational excellence, and learner success.
• Ability to develop and deliver engaging instructional experiences for diverse learner populations including youth and adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Confer with Workforce Development staff to discuss program goals, course objectives, course material, and assessments.
• Develop course objectives and deliver a curriculum that utilizes innovative classroom techniques and methodologies to offer students challenging learning opportunities.
• Engage students in learning activities throughout the entirety of the course to enhance their learning and skill development.
• Complete skill and project assessments to highlight successful completion of course.
• Monitor student success and address inadequate progress with applicable individuals.
• Network with college and community resources to include creative active-learning experiences.
• Participate in program development meetings and coordinate with instructional designer to develop web-based content.
• Improve program delivery through continuous improvement of course(s).
