Job summary

Sol Rei Wine in Sonoma, CA, is seeking an experienced Wine Host to lead tastings, sell wine, and provide exceptional guest service. You’ll work independently, manage guest flow, and occasionally assist with social media and inventory during slower periods.

We offer flexible scheduling (1–3 days/week), with shifts from 10:30am to 5:30pm, and a chance to participate in Founder’s Club bonuses. Prior tasting-room experience and RBS/WSET certification are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in winery tasting rooms or hospitality settings.
• WSET Level 1 or higher required.
• Commerce7 or OrderPort experience preferred.
• California RBS certification or willingness to obtain it within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lead tastings, sell wine, and promote Founder’s Club to guests.

Flexible scheduling—we’ll work with you to accommodate existing commitments while meeting tasting room coverage needs. 1 to 3 days per week. 10:30am-5:30pm.

Sol Rei Wine is a boutique, woman-owned winery with a tasting room in Sonoma Court Shops, just off Sonoma Plaza. We create small-production artisan wines and offer a welcoming, personal experience built around wine, education, and connection.

We’re seeking an experienced Wine Host who combines thoughtful hospitality with strong sales, organizational, and customer-service skills.

The role

You will generally be the sole host on duty, responsible for the tasting room from opening through closing. You must be comfortable working independently, managing multiple guest parties, and making sound decisions without continuous supervision.

Guest hospitality comes first. During quieter periods, you’ll support social media, customer follow-up, and inventory.

What you’ll do

• Lead engaging tastings, share our story, sell wine, and introduce guests to Founder’s Club.
• Handle opening, closing, payments, restocking, and tasting room upkeep.
• Follow up by phone and email on shipments, delivery issues, and Founder’s Club questions.
• Maintain accurate inventory and customer records.
• Create social media photos, short videos, and posts following brand guidelines.
• Practice responsible wine service.

What you’ll bring

• Previous winery tasting room experience and WSET Level 1 or higher.
• Hands-on experience with Commerce7 or OrderPort.
• Confidence running a shift independently, with reliable follow-through and attention to detail.
• Strong sales, communication, and customer-service skills.
• Social media content skills and ability to conduct accurate inventory counts.
• California RBS certification, or willingness to obtain it within the required timeframe.
• Ability to stand and move throughout a shift and lift and move wine cases, with or without reasonable accommodation.
