Job summary

Illinois Central College in East Peoria seeks an Adjunct Welding Instructor to lead hands-on welding courses (GMAW, SMAW) and supervise labs, with a mix of day/evening/weekend classes.

The instructor will follow syllabi, ensure safety, maintain office hours, and collaborate to enhance student success.

Requires 4,000 hours welding-related experience and ICC proficiency test; associate degree preferred; Illinois resident at hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4,000 hours of work experience as a welder, welding instructor, or fabricator and successful completion of ICC proficiency test.
• Ability to instruct students by explaining, demonstrating and overseeing exercises and giving topic-specific advice.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coordinate courses including lecture and/or lab-based classes ensuring materials and tools are available and safety standards are met.
• Follow syllabi and communicate expectations and schedules for classwork.
• Maintain office hours and student accessibility.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to improve student experience and outcomes.
• Perform related duties as required.
