Job summary

Morton College in Cicero, IL is seeking an adjunct welding instructor to educate a diverse student population in SMAW and GMAW or GTAW processes. The lecturer will enforce lab safety and deliver lectures and demonstrations aligned with the established curriculum.

Responsibilities include preparing a personalized syllabus, distributing it to students, maintaining grade books and attendance, submitting required reports, and communicating with students and college staff in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience as a certified welder in SMAW and GMAW or GTAW.
• Three years welding instruction or welding supervisor experience.
• Must be able to work independently and show good judgment.
• Must be available nights and/or days and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Educate a diverse student population in SMAW and GMAW or GTAW welding processes.
• Enforce lab safety and deliver lectures and demonstrations per curriculum.
• Utilize syllabus templates, approved textbooks, and materials.
• Prepare and submit a personalized course syllabus one week before start date.
• Maintain grade book and track attendance daily.
