Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach Welding. The role involves delivering classes per course objectives, using technology to enhance instruction, and maintaining student records.

The position emphasizes student engagement, inclusive teaching practices, and a commitment to Ivy Tech values. This adjunct role supports the department on a as-needed basis each semester.

Qualifications

• Must meet the education component of the School of Technology discipline standard through one of three routes: specialized certifications or credentials per COR, and 5 years directly related work experience linked to COR competencies.
• Five years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the COR.
• Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education or equivalent specialized certifications for the class per COR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Supplement and alter lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials; maintain accurate student records, grades, and requirements.
• Engage with students proactively and regularly to impact learning and provide a positive Ivy Tech experience.
• Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
• Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, adhering to College policies.
• Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.
• Promote an environment reflecting the diverse backgrounds of students and employees.
