The Part-Time Weigh-Master/Scale Attendant is responsible for the daily operations, scheduling and workflow of the scale house, while providing excellent customer service. This position is clerical in nature. This position is a fill-in position and is part-time hours.
Responsibilities:
- Major duties include maintaining computerized records of material amounts, truck identities and issuance of weigh certificates in compliance with county and state regulations
- Secure and maintain a clean scale area to ensure efficient operation.
- Coordinate with plant manager and the yard personnel during high volume days.
- Process COD customer payments.
- Direct customers to appropriate locations for unloading/loading purposes
- Answer phones/emails. Direct calls as required
- Sort and file documents
- Light administrative duties as assigned
- Prepare and maintain any spreadsheets as needed
- Maintain a safe work environment through identification and correction of hazards, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the work area.
- Perform other comparable and related duties, as assigned.
- Perform assigned duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- This position may be combined with a Laborer for the right candidate who is willing to work in a dual role. The Laborer position performs manual material separation at the processing picking stations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of work experience; office/clerical environment preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills
- Customer Service orientated
- Proficient with computer software (Microsoft Office applications, including Excel & Word).
- Previous weigh-master experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work part-time hours up to a max of 20-25 hours per week. Schedule may require weekend hours. Shifts based upon facility availability.
- Must have flexibility
Pay range: $16.50 – $18.00
Starting pay is based on expereince.
