The ChristianaCare Mail Order Pharmacy Department is currently recruiting for a part-time Pharmacy Technician to work the day shift. The successful candidate will work 20 hours a week; one (1) four (4) hour shift during the week and then eight (8) hours per day on both Saturday and Sunday. Applicants must have flexible scheduling and be able to work at all three Retail Outpatient Pharmacy Department sites. Applicants will be required to work holidays as required.

Locations

The Wilmington Hospital Outpatient Retail Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8:30 am-5 pm. The Christiana Outpatient Retail Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8 am-8 pm and 9 am-5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The Mail Order Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8:30 am-5 pm.

Responsibilities

• Fill patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance billing, and appropriate labeling and packaging, for pharmacist verification.
• Assist the pharmacist in providing timely, efficient, cost-effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care to the patient.
• Make medication credit and charge adjustments via the computer system.
• Ensure any extra medication is returned to stock.
• Reorder medications in short supply to restock the pharmacy.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Answer telephone and greet personnel entering the pharmacy in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Provide necessary information regarding patient drug orders.
• Refer problems and drug information inquiries to the pharmacist as required.
• Orient and train new pharmacy personnel.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required or enrolled in a Pharm D Program.
• Applicants enrolled or graduates of a 2-year Associates or 4-year Bachelor in Health Sciences are encouraged to apply and will be required to achieve PTCB Certification within 1 year of employment.
