Job summary

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide weekend, holiday, and vacation coverage on the 10-bed inpatient unit for children and adolescents (ages 9-15).

Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations and treatment on the unit, teaching and supervising child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, and school personnel.

Qualifications

• MD/DO in psychiatry with board eligibility or certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Experience in inpatient pediatric psychiatry and teaching is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment on the inpatient unit for children and adolescents.
• Teach and supervise child and adolescent psychiatry fellows within a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist with weekend, holiday, and vacation coverage as part of the academic schedule.
• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, teachers, and other staff.
