Job summary

Trinity Health in Waterloo, IA seeks a part-time Chaplain for weekend coverage to provide spiritual care across MercyOne Northeast Iowa facilities. Responsibilities include assessing spiritual needs, delivering care to patients and families, and coordinating with care teams.

Minimum 1–3 years in Spiritual Care with CPE; Board Certified Chaplain preferred. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Theology, Religion, Spiritual Care or Spirituality.
• 1–3 years of Spiritual Care experience; CPE training required; Chaplaincy preferred.
• Board Certified Chaplain strongly preferred; 4 ACPE units and endorsement within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
• Delivers and facilitates Transformative Spiritual Care experiences for patients, residents, participants, visitors, and colleagues across the healthcare continuum.
• Assesses religious and spiritual needs and provides interventions or referrals based on the assessed needs.
• Documents spiritual care assessments and outcomes in the electronic medical record with appropriate plans of care.
• Works as a full clinical member of the inter-professional healthcare team.
• Collaborates with Spiritual Care Manager to measure and improve Spiritual Care processes.
