Job summary

MercyOne NIA Medical Center in Mason City, IA seeks a Part-Time Spiritual Care professional to join our hospital chaplaincy team. The role features 4-hour mixed day shifts and PRN varied hours as needed for patient and staff support.

The chaplain provides spiritual care, crisis intervention, grief support, and collaboration with the healthcare team, reporting to the Manager of Spiritual Care. A Master’s degree and CPE training are preferred; Board Certification is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Theology, Religion, Spiritual Care or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of Spiritual Care experience with CPE training; chaplaincy or ministry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide transformative Spiritual Care to patients, residents, visitors, and colleagues across the healthcare continuum.
• Assess religious and spiritual needs and provide interventions or referrals as needed.
• Document Spiritual Care assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR with appropriate plans of care.
• Integrate Spiritual Care as a full inter-professional member of the healthcare team.
